Yesterday we woke to the badly reported story in the Cairns Post regarding a deal between 4CA & Council. If the average reader stopped at the headline you could be forgiven for beleiving that Mayor Schier not only knew about it but signed the cheque book. This is not the case. Not only did she not know, the CEO is claiming not to know, we wake this morning to a claim that the Council Media Manger has been stood down (presumably pending an enquiry of some sort) and a vague acknowledgement in the Cairns Post that the CEO under the mayors direction is investigating.
