Student Council Breathes Life into Death Lecture

After the Cairns Regional Council run city library’s last minute venue cancellation, their was doubt surrounding the planned lecture on euthanasia to be conducted by Dr Philip Nischke.
However the JCU Cairns Student Association has stepped in to save the day.

Director of the pro-euthanasia group, Exit International Philip Nitschke, will be speaking 11.30 on Monday morning at James Cook University at the Student Association run venue The Refectory.

JCU Cairns Campus president, Justin Ganzer warmly welcomes the controversial doctor to speak at his University, "Although some people may not agree with what he has to say, or the certain ideas that he's putting across, nonetheless he should be able to express them,"

"I believe if you're going to have intelligent debate on any subject matter, you need to at least express both sides, or as many sides as possible. Whether you agree with it or not, this isn't a way to debate a topic."
